Avg to Alpha collaborated with Best Buy Oakland to increase awareness for the homeless veterans in the Bay Area. Although the GoFundMe named "A Holiday for Vets" started a little late in the 2018 holiday season, Phil Bohol, the Founder of Avg to Alpha, was able to raise $1,229.00 in donations with the help of the Best Buy staff in Oakland, CA.
This year, 2019, Avg to Alpha hopes to increase awareness for homeless veterans nationwide. Although this is a temporary fix to help our homeless veterans in the Bay Area - the goal is to create more awareness to create urgency to help our veterans find housing so they are no longer homeless. Social media has created an avenue where we can create awareness worldwide - but only if you get involved.
If you would like to get more involved - please share any social media posts to help increase awareness nationwide. A simple click of a button can literally help us take a step forward in finding a permanent solution for homeless veterans by increasing awareness nationwide. It is our turn to serve those who served this country.
Avg to Alpha will once again raise funds for the holiday season beginning June 1, 2019 through a GoFundMe campaign. We will be accepting donations where 100% of the funding will be used for the following items which will go into a kit:
- Cold Weather Sleeping Bag
- Sleeping Mat
- Wool Gloves
- Shaving Kit
- Shaving Cream
- Baby Wipes
Each kit costs about $60.00
Although these kits do not provide a permanent solution, by donating you are:
- Providing a temporary solution for comfort
- Creating awareness nationwide
- Creating awareness in the homeless veteran community that lets our veterans know we are getting more involved and that we have their six
- Helping give back to those who served their country who are struggling physically, emotionally, mentally, and more
Here at Avg to Alpha, we hope this is just the beginning to funding and providing a more permanent solution by getting our veterans out of the streets and into housing our warriors.
Together, we can truly make a positive difference - will you join us?
